In Morrison’s 2-day course participants will gain an understanding of community policing/community engagement and its role in reducing crime and disorder. Through interactive conversation participants will identify where relationships may be fractured in their communities. At the completion of the course participants will develop community orientated solutions to address the complex problems within their perspective communities and share with the class. Honest and courageous conversations are shared during the 2-day course, Morrison’s class is specifically for those who are serious about building relationships.
As a Keynote speaker/ lecturer Morrison possesses a wealth of knowledge in police culture and community relations. Morrison has developed and/or led nonprofits, both secular and faith based. He has created programs to improve relationships between local police and the community they serve. His humble beginnings fuel his passion for fairness and equity in society. Morrison has received numerous awards, proclamations, and resolutions over his years of service but near to his heart is his award from the NAACP of the Oranges and Maplewood “Community Service Award” calling him a “Warrior for the Youth”.
Morrison is the author of “Black Cop: One Officers Struggle Staying Committed to his Community While Fighting Systematic Racism in the Police Department.” Morrison’s career in police work has been turned into a podcast called, “Black and Blue: Behind the Badge” and was released in the Fall of 2023.
